It’s so tragic what’s happening in Houston and my thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by Hurricane Harvey.
My 10-yrs-younger widowed “baby” sister who lives in the city reports that so far she’s just lost fence slats. Her nice neighbor says they can share dogs. I resisted asking if he’s single. (I’m a romance writer; my mind immediately goes there.) She also reported tornado sirens keep going off.
If you have water in your house up to outlets, turn off electricity at the main breaker. Do not go into attics, where you can be trapped. Try to get on the roof.
Meanwhile, A great place to give relief to those affected by is the Salvation Army that’s always one of the first to arrive and last to leave in any emergency. To donate call 1-800-SAL-ARMY, Text “STORM” to 51555, Donate online at helpsalvationarmy.org
